Hier kun je terecht met al je vragen over het openbaar vervoer, ook als je (nog) geen account op OVNL hebt. Bedenk je wel dat wij een forum met hobbyisten zijn en we geen banden hebben met OV bedrijven.
Ik ga in juli naar Polen, waarvoor ik een Interrailpas heb gekocht. Op 2 juli reis ik van Frankfurt(Oder) naar Lublin. Nu willen de websites van de PKP, de DB en de ÖBB me geen stoelreservering aanbieden voor het hele traject. Het probleem lijkt de Eurocity te zijn, want de ÖBB staat me wel toe om een reservering voor de binnenlandse IC tussen Kutno, Warszawa en Lublin te maken. De enige manier die ik zelf kan vinden om voor het hele traject te reserveren is via de Interrailwebsite zelf, maar die willen me papieren tickets aansmeren met verzendkosten van 9 euro, waardoor ik in totaal 21 euro kwijt zou zijn als ik het gehele traject zou reserveren.
De verzendkosten van 9 euro zijn me te gortig. Ik ben daarnaast bekend met deze ervaring:

In Białystok stappen we na een broodje en thee gehaald hebben bij de Zabka over op een Poolse IC. Voor deze treinen is een reservering verplicht, aldus Interrail. In de praktijk valt dat wel mee. Als je wilt kan je ze voor 1 złoty kopen aan het loket of online, maar wanneer we tegen de conductrice zeggen dat we er geen hebben haalt ze haar schouders op. “Reserveringen zijn uitverkocht, ga maar gewoon ergens zitten en kijk maar of je weggestuurd wordt.” Vervolgens hebben we de hele rit een coupé voor ons alleen, dus zo druk was het uiteindelijk niet.
Mijn vraag: raden jullie vooraf reserveren aan? Zo ja, wat is dan de goedkoopste optie?
In EIP-treinen is het verplicht, en krijg je ook een fikse boete als je het niet doet. Verder is mijn ervaring, en van de Polen die ik ken dat het allemaal gewoon z'n gangetje gaat.

The reservation system will keep switching to Polish language. That's unfortunate.
The reservation for EIP trains will cost 42PLN (8EUR). The reservation for EIC/IC/TLK trains will cost 1PLN (0.2EUR). If you see higher price, something is wrong.
To book a reservation:
got to https://intercity.pl/en/
fill out the origin and destination points, enter the time and date, click "Search"
if it fell back to Polish, switch the page to English, there is a knob on top of the page.
select the connection you want and click it. Ignore the the prices listed. Those prices are for full tickets. Prices for reservations are fixed.
if at this point it says "Unable to check prices", that means the system is down. Try again in a few hours.
the page will scroll down to several pull down menus. Find the one saying "Discount / reservation type". Click it and find the option "Interrail/Eurail/NRT/EWT/FIP/OSJD".
Select the class of travel. If your interrail is 2nd class you must choose 2nd class. If you hold 1st class ticket you can book 1st class reservation.
If you are booking reservation for EIP train, you can click "Select in the graphic scheme" where you can select a specific seat. Otherwise click "Continue".
Enter the passenger name. Must match the name on the ID you are holding and on your Interrail pass. Enter the number of the pass. Click Choose and finalize the payment.
You will receive an email with a PDF. There will be an Aztec code
in the PDF. That code is what you need to show to the ticket controller alongside your Interrail pass.
Ik ben in 2017 nog zonder reservering op interrail met de EIP geweest, destijds heb ik de domme interrailer gespeeld en ben ik er met succes zonder boete vanaf gekomen.
